Founded in Vienna in 1901, Universal Edition has played an important role in the development and publication of modern and contemporary music. Its catalogue today includes more than 35,000 titles and is associated with some of the most influential composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Gustav Mahler, Arnold Schönberg, Alban Berg, Anton Webern, Leoš Janáček, Wolfgang Rihm and Arvo Pärt.

Through our partnership with Universal Edition, Green Note can assist composers in presenting their works for consideration and, when accepted, becoming part of the official Universal Edition catalogue.

A published work benefits from the international reach of a renowned Viennese music publisher, with sheet music made available in both printed and digital formats and distributed to musicians, ensembles and orchestras internationally. Universal Edition's current catalogue and publishing programme include both physical and digital editions and are actively distributed worldwide.

For composers, inclusion in the Universal Edition catalogue places their work alongside a distinguished body of repertoire that has shaped modern music.
